A few months after defeating Dr. Robotnik, Sonic lives with Tom and Maddie Wachowski and tries to act as a superhero. When Tom and Maddie travel to Hawaii for Rachel's sister's wedding, Sonic is attacked by Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) , who has returned with Knuckles the Echidna (Idris Elba) to find the legendary Master Emerald. Miles "Tails" Prower (Colleen O'Shaughnessey) , a two-tailed fox, rescues Sonic and helps him find the Master Emerald before Robotnik and Knuckles do. The search leads them to a temple in Siberia and finally to Hawaii. It turns out that Rachel's fiancé and the wedding guests are G.U.N. undercover agents. Robotnik manages to steal the Master Emerald and gain great power by creating a giant robot, the Death Egg Robot. Sonic, Tails and Knuckles face one last great battle...
