1993 - A girl's body is found on a bed of flowers in a wooded area, covered in mysterious runes. East German detective Ulrike Bandow (Henriette Confurius) and her new colleague from Hamburg, Koray Larssen (Fahri Yardim) , take on the case and follow the trail of the murderer. Mysterious clues lead the pair of investigators into the German-German past to an undiscovered bizarre series of murders. And it doesn't seem to be over yet. The gruesome suspicion: the perpetrator has returned, to the place where it all began. To stop him, the disparate investigators must learn to trust each other. But Larssen has his own agenda and Ulrike is confronted with her past while solving the case.
