New images from the grand finale of the "Spider-Verse" saga! At CinemaCon 2026, Sony Pictures and Marvel presented a fresh look at "Beyond the Spider-Verse", the third and final film in the hugely popular animated series. But that's not all – a first teaser was shown live at the event, revealing new details about the plot! Here's what happens in the first-look teaser.

The premise of Beyond the Spider-Verse

The teaser makes one thing clear above all else: "Beyond the Spider-Verse" picks up exactly where "Across the Spider-Verse" left off. As a reminder: Miles has turned the Spider-Society and its leader Miguel against him. While escaping, Miles ends up on the wrong Earth. There, he encounters an alternate version of himself who has become the villain Prowler in this reality. Miles now finds himself in the villain's captivity.

What happens in the first-look teaser?

The First Look Teaser picks up at this point. Our protagonist tries to talk his way out of his difficult situation. He discusses some of their differences with his alternate version – such as their appearance or the pronunciation of their last name. The two argue for a while, but "our" Miles explains that he doesn't want to harm Prowler-Miles or Uncle Aaron. As we know, Miles simply wants to return to his reality to save his father. But then electric energy suddenly surges through his hands. Miles manages to break free and escapes.

The teaser then presents brief clips from the rest of the film. Different animation styles are used again, and some of Miles' allies are shown. These include Peter B. Parker, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Noir, and Spider-Punk, among others.

The Release Date

Of course, the first images also offer a glimpse into the film. Among others, we see Miles and his father, who is also pictured alongside Uncle Aaron in another photo. Could this image mean that a flashback is in store for us? After all, Uncle Aaron died in the reality of "our" Miles Morales in "Into the Spider-Verse".

We hope the teaser will be released to a wider audience soon. As soon as it's available, you will of course find it in our KinoCheck app and on our YouTube channel. Until then, we'll have to make do with the new images. We'll need a little more patience until the entire film is released. "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse" hits theaters on June 18, 2027.

Here's what Beyond the Spider-Verse is about

In addition to the conflict with the Prowler, "Beyond the Spider-Verse" explores other important storylines. Spot, who was introduced as an antagonist in the previous film, plays a central role once again. Once a scientist, he gained extraordinary powers from the explosion at the end of "Into the Spider-Verse". Since then, his body has been covered in black "spots" that allow him to create portals and move through spaces and entire dimensions. However, he is unhappy with his transformation – and blames Miles for it. Seeking revenge, he plans to kill Miles's father. At the same time, his abilities pose a serious threat to the entire multiverse.

Equally crucial is the conflict with the Spider-Society. They are convinced that the likely impending death of Miles' father is an inevitable event that must not be stopped. Miles, however, refuses to accept this fate. There are many indications that the Spider-Verse is splitting into two camps: on one side, Miles and his allies; on the other, the Spider-Society.

Since "Beyond the Spider-Verse" marks the conclusion of the Miles Morales trilogy, several pivotal developments are also on the horizon. It is quite possible that Miles' parents will finally learn about his life as Spider-Man. The relationship between Miles and Gwen is also likely to play an important role. The new film thus has plenty of themes and storylines that need to be brought to a close. Find out all the details about the grand finale in our movie preview!
