Avengers: Doomsday Concept Art reveals the look of the Marvel heroes – Trailer coming soon
The trailer is expected to be released at San Diego Comic-Con
We'll have to wait a few more months before "Avengers: Doomsday" hits theaters. But fans can at least enjoy a concept art illustration featuring several protagonists from the new Marvel blockbuster. Andy Park, former Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, posted the image on social media and wrote:
"AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY - the final full film I had the honor of leading as Director of Visual Development at Marvel Studios. This illustration commemorates that journey & reveals the characters & their looks for the first time."
The image showcases numerous heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Steve Rogers, Thor, Ant-Man, Sam Wilson, the Fantastic Four, and the "Thunderbolts" protagonists. In the foreground, several members of the X-Men – who have already appeared in previous films – are posing. In addition to Professor X and Magneto, Cyclops, Beast, Nightcrawler, Mystique, and Gambit are also depicted. In the center of the illustration, the masked antagonist Doctor Doom stares back at us. Below him, though very small and barely recognizable, is another figure who appears to be Loki. The Doomsday trailer is expected to premiere at San Diego Comic-Con
The image is a nice teaser, but of course fans are mostly waiting for the first trailer for "Avengers: Doomsday" to finally be released. But it might not be long now. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer is expected to be shown during the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 25. Also interesting: According to the industry publication, the film is said to have a runtime of approximately 165 minutes – which would make it longer than "Avengers: Infinity War" (149 minutes) but shorter than "Avengers: Endgame" (181 minutes).
"Avengers: Doomsday" features a massive star-studded cast. The ensemble of the Marvel blockbuster includes, among others: Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans. Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely are responsible for the screenplay. Anthony and Joe Russo returned as directors. The duo also directed the two previous "Avengers" films – both of which were extremely successful at the box office. "Infinity War" grossed an impressive $2 billion at the global box office in 2018. "Endgame" even surpassed that significantly in 2019, grossing 2.7 billion US dollars. Will the Russos' new film rake in similar numbers? We'll see. One thing is certain, though: "Avengers: Doomsday" hits theaters on December 18, 2026.
Avengers: Rumors about the sequel Secret Wars
Although the film's release is still a while away, rumors have already begun circulating about the sequel, "Avengers: Secret Wars." According to several Hollywood insiders, there are said to be some changes to the main cast. Specifically, this means that the new film will focus on characters who played only minor roles – or didn't appear at all – in "Doomsday."
The new film is reportedly focused on a group of younger heroes who stand up to Doom. They're said to be supported by some familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe – including Wong, Agatha Harkness, Scott Lang, Vision, and Star-Lord. Marvel may be laying the groundwork for the future in order to attract more new, younger viewers to the franchise. However, these insider reports are, so far, unconfirmed rumors – and should therefore be taken with a grain of salt. What is certain, however, is that Anthony and Joe Russo will once again be directing. In addition, the release date has been known for some time: "Avengers: Secret Wars" hits theaters on December 17, 2027.
