A new chapter in the dinosaur saga: the first trailer for "Jurassic World: Rebirth"
The film will be released in cinemas on July 2, 2025
Time for a new round of "Jurassic World": Three years after "Jurassic World: Dominion", a new film in the popular dinosaur saga is finally coming our way on July 2, 2025. So it's high time for a first trailer for "Jurassic World: Rebirth", which is due to be released on Wednesday! Of course, you'll also be able to watch it on our channel!
A new chapter for the "Jurassic World" series
"Jurassic World: Rebirth" is set five years after the events of the last film. Undercover investigator Zora Bennett is given a risky assignment: she and a special team are to secure genetic material from three legendary dinosaurs. The aim is to develop a cure for a dangerous disease. The mission requires extreme precision, as the risks are enormous.
But during the operation, things take an unexpected turn: a civilian family on a seemingly harmless expedition gets caught up in the action. Their boat capsizes and both Zora's team and the family are stranded on a remote island. There they come across a long-kept, terrifying secret.
Now it's no longer just about the success of the mission, but also about bare survival. What began as a targeted rescue mission develops into a dangerous battle against unknown threats.
The cast
In "Jurassic World: Rebirth", Scarlett Johansson takes on the lead role of Zora Bennett, replacing previous franchise stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Johansson is known for her action and character roles and should therefore be a perfect fit for the role.
She is joined by other notable newcomers: Mahershala Ali plays expedition leader Duncan Kincaid, while Jonathan Bailey can be seen as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis. The three characters form a dynamic trio that the director compares to the group of heroes from Steven Spielberg's "Jaws".
Rupert Friend takes on the role of pharmaceutical representative Martin Krebs, who pursues the economic interests of a company. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo also plays family man Ruben Delgado, and "Deadpool" actor Ed Skreinis also part of the cast, although his exact role is still unknown. The dynamics within the team could cause tension, for example through a possible split between Zora, Duncan and Henry on the one hand and Krebs and Skrein's character on the other. In addition to the dinosaurs, a human antagonist could therefore also play a central role.
The popular characters from the predecessors, including Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), will not be returning. Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum are also not involved, meaning that the film stands on its own two feet.
Behind the scenes
David Koepp, who previously worked on the first two films "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World", has been hired as screenwriter for the new part. There have been no changes to the producers compared to the previous "Jurassic World" films, with Steven Spielberg also returning as executive producer.
The director is Gareth Edwards. He had his big breakthrough in 2014 with "Godzilla" and has since shown with "Rogue One" and "The Creator", among others, that he has a knack for epic action films with lots of effects. The film was shot in Thailand, among other places. According to Edwards, the geographical diversity, from dense mangrove swamps to rivers full of life, provided the perfect backdrop for a dinosaur movie. However, filming was not without its dangers. Edwards reports of poisonous water snakes and giant spiders that regularly surprised the team.
According to Edwards, the new film will recapture the essence of Spielberg's "Jurassic Park". While the previous films relied increasingly on computer graphics, this time the focus is on real effects and classic suspense elements. Jurassic World 4 will be released in cinemas on July 2, 2025.
To date, the cinema franchise comprises three "Jurassic Park" films and three "Jurassic World" spin-offs. With worldwide box office takings of almost 6 billion US dollars, the series is one of the ten most successful film series of all time. There are also several animated Netflix series such as "Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous" and "Chaos Theory" as well as numerous video games. The franchise celebrates its 32nd anniversary next year with the upcoming seventh film.
