Hotel Transylvania 5 Confirmed
The future of the series is far from over
Hotel Transylvania" is opening its doors again! In an interview with Variety during the Golden Globes, Keegan-Michael Key mentioned that "Hotel Transylvania 5" is in the works. However, he did not want to reveal any further details.
The story of Count Dracula and his extraordinary hotel guests was actually supposed to come to an end with "Hotel Transylvania 4". But even then, many fans doubted that this could actually have been the final chapter. In 2024, director Genndy Tartakovsky fueled the rumors of a fifth part when he said that the future of the franchise was not yet final. Although there were no concrete plans at the time, Tartakovsky's statements indicated that further stories from the monster hotel were certainly conceivable.
Should "Hotel Transylvania 5" actually be realized, a release in 2027 would be quite conceivable. It is not yet known which characters and, above all, voice actors will return. However, Keegan-Michael Key has already emphasized that he would like to lend his voice to the mummy Murray again. We are excited!
Film tips for fans of "Hotel Transylvania": scary fun with heart and humor
Anyone who loves "Hotel Transylvania" knows that scary doesn't have to be scary. Instead, these films combine lovable monsters, fast-paced gags, colorful animation and a large portion of heart. Dracula as an overprotective father, a motley crew of monsters and stories about friendship, family and tolerance make up the special charm of the series. For anyone looking for similar movie fun, there are numerous films that strike the same note – quirky, funny and wonderfully family-friendly.
Monsters, Inc. (2001)
An absolute classic for fans of likeable monsters. In the world of Monstropolis, monsters generate energy by scaring children – until one day the little girl Boo upsets everything. Similar to "Hotel Transylvania", classic scary characters are completely reinterpreted: instead of spreading fear, they quickly grow on you. The film scores with humor for young and old as well as an emotional story about friendship and responsibility.
The Addams Family (2019 & 2021)
Macabre but heartfelt: "The Addams Family" shares with "Hotel Transylvania" a love of quirky characters and black humor that never gets too dark. The animated remakes rely on a modern look, fast-paced dialog and the theme of being different. The Addams show that you can be happy even if you don't fit into the norm – a message that fits perfectly with the Monster Hotel.

ParaNorman (2012)
A little creepier, but still suitable for families: "ParaNorman" tells the story of a boy who can talk to ghosts. The film combines humor with more serious themes such as exclusion and prejudice. Fans of "Hotel Transylvania" will appreciate the respectful treatment of the supernatural and the warm-hearted message.
Frankenweenie (2012)
Tim Burton's black and white animated film is a loving homage to classic monster movies. The story about a boy who brings his dog back to life is emotional, quirky and surprisingly sweet. Here, too, the "monster" is not evil, but often simply misunderstood.
Luca (2021)
Not a scary movie at first glance, but thematically very fitting. "Luca" is about sea monsters that disguise themselves as humans in order to live among them. The parallels to "Hotel Transylvania" are clear: two worlds, prejudices and the question of whether you are accepted for who you are. Warm-hearted, funny and beautifully animated.

The Boxtrolls (2014)
"The Boxtrolls" takes us into a lovingly quirky world in which little monsters made of cardboard boxes living under the city are feared by people – quite wrongly. As in "Hotel Transylvania", the film shows that the supposedly creepy often has the biggest heart. With its unique stop-motion style, quirky humor and a warm story about family and acceptance, the film appeals to children and adults alike. The message that being different is not a weakness but a strength is particularly beautiful.
Conclusion
Films in the style of "Hotel Transylvania" are characterized by a special blend of horror aesthetics, humour and emotional depth. They show monsters as lovable characters and convey important values such as tolerance, friendship and family – without any pretentious finger-wagging.
