The world's most famous secret agent returns - with a completely new face! After the end of the Daniel Craig era, James Bond is starting a new chapter. The next 007 film marks the beginning of a new era under the leadership of Amazon, which now has creative control of the entire Bond franchise for the first time following the takeover of MGM.
The project is being spearheaded by two top-class directors: Denis Villeneuve ("Dune", "Sicario") and Steven Knight, the creator of "Peaky Blinders", is writing the screenplay. Together, they want to take the secret agent in a modern, dark direction - inspired by Ian Fleming's early novels.
The new Bond is to be a young British actor in his 30s - as fresh, charismatic and dangerous as possible. Casting is expected to begin in 2026, with filming scheduled for 2027. A cinema release is therefore not expected until 2028 at the earliest.
With Villeneuve's signature style, Knight's raw narrative style and Amazon's global reach, "James Bond 26" could become a turning point for the traditional franchise - between classic espionage, uncompromising thriller and the question of how much "Bond" is still in the new 007.
