PEARL HARBOR bombed out when it came out in 2001. There are several parts in the movie that are computerized battle scenes . Cuba Gooding Jr. plays well as Seaman Cook Dorrie Miller, hero of the USS West Virginia Pearl Harbor attack . It is said that Dorrie Miller shot down 4 Jap attacking aircraft. He was killed in a later Pacific naval battle on board the USS Liscombe Bay, a newly built aircraft carrier. He was killed on board and "presumed dead" along with 600 shipmates.

Dan Ackroid is an overweight military officer, Alec Baldwin cops an out-sized sneer as a leader of a bomber squadron, and Ben Affleck over acts when he cries inconsolably over a tragic loss, with some of the most ham-fisted dialogue ever to grace a movie screen. This film tried too hard to be Titanic, using a romance to steer the plot, with the history stuff knocking around somewhere in the back. Neither the history nor the romance, floated.

Pearl harbor is nowhere near my top twenty list of favorite war movies, there's just some thing that didn't add up in it. Read a real history book and you'll see that this movie is just crap. When I saw it, it was the same scenario as the titanic
