Uptown Girls

Manhattan socialite and freewheeling daughter of a rock legend, Molly (Brittany Murphy) loses her inheritance and is forced to get a job. She becomes a nanny to precocious Ray (Dakota Fanning), an "eight-year-old going on forty." Emotionally distant from her fast-paced A&R executive mom, Roma (Heather Locklear), Ray has grown up with a revolving door of nannies. Molly and Ray both feel alone in the world, but as they try to make their arrangement work, each discovers in the other a true friend.
